What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula provides non-medical support to families after the birth of a baby. This includes emotional care, physical recovery guidance, newborn care education, and help adjusting to life at home.
The postpartum period is often overlooked. But it is one of the most intense times in a mother’s life.
As your doula, I support you with:
- Recovery after birth
- Breastfeeding and lactation help
- Newborn care and sleep routines
- Emotional check-ins and mental health support
- Light meal prep and household setup
- Partner and sibling transitions
Motherhood is beautiful. It can also be overwhelming and lonely. You do not have to figure it out on your own.
I’m Diedre. A mom of four. A school counselor. Your postpartum doula.
I care for you while you care for your baby.

Here’s what makes my care different:
- Experienced Mom and Professional
- As a mom of four and a school counselor, I understand the emotional weight and the daily logistics that come with life after birth. I bring together lived experience and professional insight to support you in a way that feels real and relatable.
- Culturally Rooted Care
- As a Jamaican American woman, I honor the traditions and values that shape how families heal and grow. Whether you are following practices passed down through generations or exploring new ones, your story is welcome here.
- Support That Fits Your Life
- I offer in-person care for local families and virtual sessions for those further away. Every family is different, so your care plan will be tailored to match your needs, your rhythms, and your goals.
